True, but two inches in a month?
Of course, some folks probably do vary that much over the course of a day, and activity probably makes a difference. Ideally, the measurements should be taken under as similar circumstances as possible. (Same time of day, either wearing the same footwear [or, better still, not wearing footwear], same sort of activity prior to measuring [sleeping vs. carrying bricks vs. hanging upside down by the ankles vs etc.], etc.)
Also, two measurements = two data points, and you need more than that over a longer period of time in order to determine if any given measurement was an anomaly.
